Aughakillymaude Mummers Centre, Knockninny Derrylin, Enniskillen

The Irish tradition of mumming and mummers is preserved at this Centre and ten minutes from Coolbeg. The mummers stage rhythmic performance in which there is always a theme of fight to death and revival.

The Centre is open Monday to Friday in the summer months but time your visit if you can towards the traditional folk calendar, with particular and extensive activities occurring around late June, the summer solstice. “don’t get put in the wicker man”. Postcode: BT92 9JT.

Belleek Pottery Visitor Centre, Belleek, Enniskillen, BT93 3FY.

The world famous and only Irish pottery, has become one of Fermanagh’s leading tourist attractions. Open all year, guided tours of the factory show how the fine porcelain china and basked weave ware is made. An excellent gift shop and tea room are just part of this experience. Tea just seems to taste better from a Belleek tea cup!

Enniskillen Castle Museum, Enniskillen, BT74 7HL.

Excellent Museum about Fermanagh’s pre-history and natural history. A changing range of special events and family entertainment takes place throughout the year.

The Museum also incorporates the regimental Museum of the Inniskilling regiments. The exhibitions follow the course of the two regiments from their formation during the religious troubles of 1688 through to modern times. The regiments have the distinction of having received a prolific number of battle honours and the Museum thus provides a broad prospective on British and Irish military and colonial history.
